About ServManage
Devace ServManage is a program of managed support
services that go beyond the standard technical support
that every Devace client receives. ServManage includes
a standard set of services which are included with
all dedicated servers and optional services, which
can be added as required.
System Configuration and Administration
Each Windows2000 dedicated server is initially set
up and configured as a production Internet server
using the Microsoft Security Checklist as a guideline.
Further steps are taken by Devace personnel to ensure
new servers are pre-configured with the most recent
hot fixes and security patches. General system administration
services include hardware partitioning and testing,
server system configuration, software installation
and configuration, operating system trouble shooting,
and log file analysis and rotation.
In most cases, Devace personnel will also pre-configure
a dedicated web server to support one or more websites
for immediate deployment. Our Dedicated Server Configuration
Guide provides customers with detailed information
on the configuration of their server and the steps
they can take to set up new websites and administer
their server.
Security Patch Updates
The ServManage Program includes the automatic installation
by Devace personnel of any Microsoft recommended
patches or hot fixes (relating to Windows web servers).
This measure will ensure that your server is kept
up-to-date with the latest level of server security
and reliability.
Monitoring Services - MRTG
Devace dedicated server customers are provided with
their own private, login protected web site that gives
them MRTG (Multi Router Traffic Grapher) generated
data and graphical images of their server's Internet
traffic activity. Traffic analysis is performed and
updated in five-minute intervals, 24 hours a day,
seven days a week.
Alert Notification
All dedicated servers are enabled to support the
ServManage Notification System, which will immediately
alert Devace personnel of any HTTP, FTP, CPU, Disk,
or access problems with a server.
Security/Firewall
To protect your data and web applications from unauthorized
intruders, all dedicated servers are placed behind
an Devace firewall. Firewall rules are set, managed
and reviewed on a regular basis by Devace personnel,
which helps to ensure any new firewall loopholes cannot
be compromised.
DNS Services
Each Devace dedicated server customer is provided
with up to five (5) DNS entries using Devace' primary
and secondary DNS servers. This service allows you
to run multiple websites on a single dedicated web
server, without the necessity of operating and managing
your own DNS servers. Additional DNS entries are available
at a fee of $1.00 per month per DNS entry.
Basic Email Services
Each dedicated server customer is provided with 25
POP3 email accounts using Devace' POP3 email servers.
Using our Email Admin Console, you can fully manage
all of your email services via a web browser. Customers
have the option of installing their own email server
software on their dedicated server.
Devace Backup and Restore Service
Devace offers an optional managed backup and restore
service for dedicated server customers. Please contact
